According to reports, the T-pain is suing Lil Wayne for at least $500,000 in unpaid royalties for his contributions to Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” album.
T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Productions company claims Pain produced “Got Money,” which he also appears on, and alleges that another artist, Young Fyre, produced “How to Hate” on the LP.
According to documents filed, Young Money was supposed to pay T-Pain an allotted sum of money, especially since “Tha Carter III” sold more than 3.2 million copies in the U.S. alone.
T-Pain believes he and Young Fyre are owed more than $500k.
T-Pain may have to wait awhile for his check because Wayne is currently tied up in a lawsuit against Cash Money for $51 million. He also sued Universal Music Group over profits for Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. More recently, Wayne threatened to shut Young Money down.
T-Pain is prepping the upcoming album, OBLiViON, due out this week.
