Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has recently announced a new business venture and this time it’s away from the sporting world and into the world of music.
Yes that’s right ! The highly talented striker maybe known for his abilities on the pitch but his next move comes off the field as he has now launched his own record label – Birmingham based Dudley Road Records – and its first release, a track called “Miss You” from artists Screama and Capstone Heights.
Speaking on the announcement Sturridge went onto say “The reason why I started a record label is because I’ve been very passionate about music since a young age,”
“I’ve always loved the management/business side of things and was always intrigued by successful record labels. It is something that I’ve always thought I would like to do given the opportunity and time to do so.
“We would like to give people an opportunity from not just Birmingham but all over the world, we would love to help people build long lasting careers. Dudley Road Records is an open minded record label that will house a catalogue of different genres, Dudley Road will also give artists an opportunity to become successful whilst making the music they are passionate about”.
The debut release for “Miss You” is due to drop this Friday so watch out for that one as the label will aim to provide releases that fuse genres like R&B, Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, House and Bass music all into one sound.
